As reported, Facebook Inc. the social media giant is all set to establish its data center in the Fort Worth region of Texas. The Governor of Fort Worth, Mr. Greg Abott recently announced that under his leadership along with other officials will take part in "the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Facebook Data Center" at a location in Alliance industrial park.

The Mayor of Fort Worth Mr. Betsy Price is extremely positive about this venture. He considers this initiative by Facebook, good news for the local inhabitants of Fort Worth. Ms. Price stated, "It's what they're bringing, the investment they're making, and it's the marquee piece.” She further added that data centers of such nature play an integral role in bolstering the technological and economic growth for vicinity. Moreover, she also believes that this initiate will be a positive sign for Facebook products as they will be able to sculpt their needs for the tech sector.

According to a recent interview conducted for News 8, the Mayor mentioned that she was acknowledged about Facebook’s plan almost a year back, according to latest Facebook news. The company had several options and alternative cities to choose from but Facebook Inc. chose Fort Worth of all the available options. The company’s data center project had been in the pipeline since the past few months but was kept hidden by the company’s executive along with the government officials in the Fort Worth district.

At this point a lot remains unclear since the company has not provided many details in this regard. However, according to the current information, the venture is likely to comprise of a 250,000 square foot three buildings that will span on a 110 acre site. This project is actually a breakthrough for local inhabitants as it will create thousands of job opportunities that will be direct and indirect. Moreover, during the construction phase the locals will also benefit from the work opportunities.

This is not the first time that social media giant has decided to establish its data centers but earlier the company also builds two data centers that are situated in North Carolina and Oregon. These data centers cover an area of 300,000 square feet of land. As reported by latest Facebook updates, while they were constructing the data center in Oregon that has now resulted in almost 700 jobs in the initial phase and once it was completed 3,500 more individuals actually got employment.
