Ford Motor company has taken a step to help its customers.

The American vehicle manufacturer, Ford Motor Company, has taken a step to help its customers. Ford news reported that the company has introduced its pilot program in London and a number of American cities, including San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Oregon, Portland, Chicago, and Washington D.C. It is revealed that the initiative has been taken to help customers finance their automobiles through Ford Motor credit.

Ford news today informed that the beneficiaries of the financing plan would be able to rent their vehicles to prescreened drivers for temporary usage. The project would let Ford’s product owners to cover their monthly vehicle ownership costs. Market sources highlighted that Ford Credit Vice President of Marketing, David McClelland, has stated that as most vehicles are not used for most of the time, this can help to fulfill customer’s wish to earn extra sums of money and employ their vehicles.

The company has claimed that 14,000 customers in the United States of American would be urged to participate along with 12,000 clients in the British capital, as affirmed by Ford breaking news. The automaker’s customers in the largest economy of the world would be engaged through the ride-sharing firm, Getaround, while its customers in London would be served through the easyCar club.

It is expected that Ford’s entrance in the ride sharing market would lure a large number of consumers who view cars more than an appliance. Industry sources stated that the program has been launched as a part of the larger Ford Smart mobility plan that focuses on big data, autonomous vehicles, mobility, and connectivity.

With the launch of the car-sharing program, Ford has entered a market currently dominated by several automakers, encompassing Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, Diamler AG, and Volkswagen. Media sources have informed that the Michigan-based enterprise has launched the program more than three years after its American rival, General Motors, proclaimed to collaborate with RelayRides.

RelayRides is known for developing a connection between vehicle owners and consumers who are looking to benefit from short-term rentals. Experts stated their view that the new facility would not only make its products much affordable, but also improve its reputation in the high tech world.

It is probable that the latest service would send a threatening message to the automaker’s competitors. It should now take steps to promote the scheme in the best possible manner or it would fail to improve the affordability of its technologically advanced cars.
