Automobile navigation system might be getting more efficient by new chips introduced by Broadcom Corporation.

The semiconductor and chip manufacturer, Broadcom Corporation, has recently announced a new chip that will be providing vehicles with more accurate navigation than ever. BCM89774 will display efficient locations for drivers using lesser power for the built-in software. The American tech company is taking another step towards making innovative equipment to provide modern tech to its customers.

Broadcom Corporation is known for providing the best semiconductor chips. It also provides electronic equipment to Apple for the production of IPhones. The automobile market is growing rapidly in equipment and tech of various categories. It is stepping its game up to reap profits out of this growing market.

The BCM89774 will have a technology through which reception will be achievable from many GNSS satellites, such as US, Russia, Europe, and China. The Information technology’s latest chip will have a CPU that will help to save power and energy, while providing an eco-friendly service to the customers with best accuracy.

Many new innovative technologies were witnessed at this year’s CES, including this latest chip. Broadcom also gave sneak peak to many other chips that will be marketed this year, including chip consisting of Bluetooth and other wireless connectivity with a better battery, and NFC for customers to make electronic payments.

Broadcom is being acquired by Avago Technologies costing $35 billion. The deal was made public in 2015 stating that the merger will allow the creation of better modern automation equipment, and chips ‘that can make wonders’. The increasing boom in IT industry requires such innovations. Avago saw the opportunity and stepped forward to acquire the company.

This navigation system processor by the tech company will help many companies in the car business to build better system at cheaper prices. The shipment of these chips is expected to double by 2022, which is huge as the market of automation is growing rapidly. This chip will improve positioning in harsh urban weather conditions and provide customers with better experience. The chip has been tested to AECQ100 and is manufactured in TS16949 facilities.

The director of Broadcom of automotive wireless connectivity, Richard Barrett said, “Broadcom’s new GNSS connectivity chip for automotive keeps car makers and tier one suppliers ahead of the curve with advanced precision and reduced power consumption while lowering BOM cost, by delivering premium product that meet automotive grade requirements, we are positioned for growth in this accelerating market.”

Broadcom stock closed at $54.18 on January 11.
