Apple has come up with many features at WWDC 2015, some of them had been a surprise.

Latest Apple news gathers the special announcements that we saw in the keynote at WWDC 2015. It has become almost a convention for the tech giant to announce the new version of iOS at the WWDC every year. Rumors had it for the past few months that the company was deciding to take a gap year in order to work on the existing features and their fixations. Also it had aimed to work on the OS foundation to solidify it more. There is no doubt that a lot of existing apps have received that refinement which was much needed. However, the tech giant has announced the new features and some of them might come to you as a surprise.

To be honest, Siri has not been as effective and good as Google Now had been. Therefore, the company has added some smarter features to the voice query feature. For instance, if a user says “show me photos from Utah from last August,” he/she will get those particular photos. The new feature added has been named ‘Proactive’, and with the help of it, Apple news reports that Siri will be optimizing the user’s phone usage depending on what he/she is doing. For example, it shall start the audiobook when you sit in your car because you are fond of listening to the audiobook while in car.

This has been bundled in the UI that has been created along with the suggestion for contacts and apps on the basis of where the user is and what they shall do. Craig Federighi, the Vice President of Software Engineering expressed, “There’s more we wanted to do: adding intelligence throughout the user experience without compromising your privacy.”

Another upgrade that has happened is for Spotlight, keeping in mind that the third-party apps have the ability to take advantage of search feature belonging to the tech giant. For example, a user can search for a restaurant in Yelp, straight from their home screen and then it shall take you to the result page of Yelp’s app, which has been possible due to the deep linking. Also, Spotlight has become the little search engine of itself. If there is anything a user can find using Spotlight, they might not rely on Google searches much which shall be the side effect in the mobile war that is happening between Google and Apple. The company has insisted a lot on privacy when it comes to this feature. When the users are going to search for something, they won’t be giving their data away.

When it comes to News app, it is safe to say that the company has played around and cloned Flipboard. News app gets the web content in the native app. “The articles can come from anywhere, but the best ones are built in Apple News format,” stated by Susan Prescott, the VP of the company.
