The retailer giant now has a separate section for Cable store services and products - first addition Comcast Corporation

Comcast Corporation announced yesterday that its internet, TV cable (Xfinity TV) and home phone service will be available via Amazon.com now. On the other hand, in order to make the specific services easily available the e-commerce giant has made a new section on its website by the name of ‘Amazon Cable Store’.

The particular section will not only welcome Comcast customers but will also offer Amazon’s other dedicated services on the platform. This deal has come out after exactly a year of when the CEO of Comcast, Brian Roberts and the company’s president, Neil Smit had an interaction with Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos.

The three well known personalities met a year prior to discuss how they can integrate both the company and one of the ideas that popped up during that discussion was to offer Comcast’s products on Amazon’s platform. The retailer’s new cable store section serves as an online marketplace and to ensure efficient customer experience, a team of experts have been dedicated to assist customers in every step of their purchase on the website.

Comcast Corporation is hoping that by integrating its products on to Amazon’s marketplace will not only increase the number of customers but will also help to transform the customer experience. Presently, the cable network company has put all of its 30-plux Xfinity services and products onto the online shopping company’s platform.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed as yet but we do know that Amazon charges a certain percentage from its third party vendor of their sales. A person familiar to the matter stated that the normal referral fees that Amazon charges from its third party merchants usually ranges from single digits to 15% or a little more of its selling price.

Charlie Herrin, the Executive Vice President of Customer Service at Comcast called amazon ‘the brand that’s unrivaled when it comes to customer service.’ Furthermore, the EVP also acknowledged the size of the retailers operations and he also believes that this new section is an ‘immersive’ way to showcase the products of Comcast.

The cable network company is likely to benefit from this deal in a way that it has smartly priced its products and its offering it on the most convenient and approachable platform. The prices presently on the cable store section are quite similar to what they cable network company is already offering through its sales channel but with its easy delivery and ordering service, the products and services are likely to perform better on it.

However, the Xfinity plans are not available in all the areas even on Amazon. But to select a specific Comcast service, users simply need to pick out their plan, packages and the equipment that they will require along with a credit check and finally let the company know when they can come for the installation. Even as the largest cable TV service in the United States, Comcast is likely to heavily benefit from amazon because now the service is ten times more easily available to customers.

Convenience is the name of the game; and customers prefer to get what they need with a click of a button. Just when you think, Amazon sell everything and has reached its peak, it surprises you!
