The micro-blogging website and the live streaming app will now be accessible on one platform.

With its continued efforts of growing user engagement and making the experience more attractive, Twitter Inc. has made yet another effort to fit in. On January 15, 2016, the micro-blogging company announced that the broadcasts on the live streaming app, Periscope will now be viewable on the social media network’s application on the IOS and will be made available on the android operating system soon as well.

Initially, only the links of the broadcasts were just posted on the platform and the users were supposed to click on the links in order to view them; however now the live stream videos have officially replaced the links. Twitter and Periscope users will not have to jump through applications now; as the social media network has made their lives much easier and simpler with this little change. It is highly probable that the user engagement might grow with this little modification.

Through this modification, the live broadcasts by Twitter users will be able to reach a larger audience; additionally they will directly be able to view live broadcasts on their twitter app. Another plus is that these live streaming videos will also available to users who do not use the live streaming app.

It is safe to say that Twitter will manage to provide a more enriching experience to its users as it already allows them to view Vines from the app itself. The live broadcasting app was acquired by the social media website back in March in 2015. Since the acquisition it has managed to get as many as 100 million broadcasts up. This number is likely to go up not that the social media network has incorporated it with its own app.

At the time of the acquisition of Periscope, the management of the social media company believed that it would just add a little different touch to the network, away from its text-heaving timelines. Subsequently, Twitter’s biggest rival, the social media leader Facebook, Inc. has also incorporated video streaming on users timelines.

Currently this new feature has been made available on the iOS and is being made accessible on the operating system worldwide. On the other hand, android users will soon be able to avail this service as well. It is expected that the customers of the website might be excited for this alteration made on the network.

Twitter stock, on a separate note, has been pummeled on the stock market. Presently an increase of 1.71% was seen in the stock price at $19.00. The earnings per share reported were at $-0.86 and the market value of the social media site is $12.75 billion.
