Toyota Motors Corporation has hired Google's former executive to head its Artificial intelligence research laboratory

Toyota Motors Corporation has been able to hire Google's ex-robotics' head and an important official in the technology giant’s driverless vehicle efforts, as the company made a prediction that robots are capable of becoming as significant for its future as automobiles have become since the 1930s.

James Kuffer, an employee who has served the technology giant from 2009, was nominated as the Google operator’s robotics unit’s head in 2014 when pioneer of Android s smartphone operating technology Andy Rubin left the corporation. Mr Andy was able to shake up the robotics sector after acquiring well known startups, giving the organization a leading position in the growing sector of autonomous machineries.

The official responsible for heading the company's intelligence  research laboratories was able to use the proclamation at the CES in Las Vegas, to make a prediction that manufacturing robots can one day turn into company's  major business.

Gill Pratt, who used to head robotics at the  US defence department's research division, said that the shift to intelligent machineries was probably as important as the growth of the automotive industry, which was able to prompt Toyota to start shifting its concentration from the manufacturing of mechanical looms.

“It’s entirely possible that robots are going to become for today’s Toyota what the car industry was back when Toyota was making looms,” he stated. Robots in the house “may eventually become even more personally prized” than vehicles  are at the moment, he added

Mr Gill stated  while the automaker had shifted its production prowess to various markets, the growth of  robotics has been able to  present a different challenge: “may eventually become even more personally prized”

He said yesterday as the car maker named Mr James as a member of a  research group's member to head its newly established  AI research laboratory in the Silicon Valley, as it made an effort to  became a part of  the valley and lead the world in the AI's field.

The Corporation has pledged $1b in funds for the laboratory in its first 5 years, which has highlighted the growing significance of AI and software.

Other newly hired senior officals said yesterday in Las Vegas including Larry Jackel and Eric Krotov, who like Gill, had worked  with the US Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, which has played a significant role in the United States in financing initial research in the robotics' field.

After losing its senior official, Google's translation service has done a mistake as it has translated Russian Federation into Mordor.
