The ecommerce retail company has managed to win and stay at the top in all the indexes during the year 2015.

Amazon indeed enjoyed a merry Christmas as year 2015 turned out to be one of the best years for the e-commerce company. It managed to become the e-commerce leader by shipping millions to products and parcels all across the globe with its Prime delivery service.

According to the numbers reported by the retailer, it sold over 200 million items that were shipped through its Amazon Prime service during the holiday season. Furthermore, it sold over twice as many devices as it did in 2014, which included its number 1 selling product: Fire Tablet. It was, as per the website, the most gifted and most desired product during the holiday season.

Additionally, there were over 3 million sign ups on the Prime service in the first three weeks of December 2015, which evidently was to get a free 30-day trail delivery shipping, but it is predicted that a good number of people will subscribe for the its $99-per-year service. Currently there are over 40 to 80 million amazon subscribers that are valuable commodity to the retailer. The company prefers not to disclose the exact number of its customers as it focuses mainly on saying that it has “tens of millions of members worldwide”.

Subsequently, as per the estimations of experts, it can be said that over $60 billion is spent yearly on the online shopping website by the customers, which is twice the amount that non-members spend. In comparison, the rivals including Kohl’s reported its highest sales on Black Friday in 2015. The retailer kept its stores open for more than 170 consecutive hours, which were an additional 70 hours from last year due to which it managed to make more sales.

Amazon’s online presence has become an added trouble for its competitors whether big or small. Most people prefer to purchase their goods and gifts online now and simply get it delivered at their doorstep; in this respect, the retail giant is winning. Many online shoppers have continuously shown interest in shopping from the company and during November, over 35% of these customers stated that it caught their eye, whereas the other market leaders combined got just 13% attention.

Mainly because the company has entered every possible market, it has made such a reliable name in the market; from delivery, entertainment, and drones, Amazon was everywhere in 2015. Even though its stock lost almost 22%, the organization itself soared like no other in the year.
