Qualcomm might start supplying its chips to Samsung again for phones.

The American chip manufacturer, Qualcomm, is about to increase its market share. The Californian organization has had to battle with a growing smartphone industry. The South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, had previously stopped equipping its famous Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones with Snapdragon chips. Its share has declined by 20% since this year. Now, the chipmaker might start meeting the needs of some of the versions of the next first-class smartphone coming next year.

Qualcomm News affirmed that Samsung enterprise would start using the forthcoming Snapdragon 820 “system on chip - SoC” in the People’s Republic of China and United States markets, stated sources. In other marketplaces, the Korean company would utilize its own Exynos processors out of its chip enterprise division – a method it has been following in the past. Electronic Times informed the company’s move back to Qualcomm previously this month.

Qualcomm News today reported that to be certain, the Southeast Asian enterprise could change its plans. Up till some weeks before the introduction of Galaxy S6 Edge and S6, it had two working versions for both phones, one installed with a Qualcomm processor, while the other one was a Samsung processor.

Attracting Samsung again would not resolve the crises being faced by the chipmaker. The Korean company’s phone has slowed down and Apple’s iPhone has captured most of the high-tech smartphone market. And now, Chinese phone manufacturers, such as Huawei and Xiamoi, are demonstrating their importance and aiming at expansions outside their local market.

This has turned the second largest economy into a significant market for Qualcomm. In the current scenario, the company is performing well in majority of the best smartphones introduced in China, encompassing high-end models from OnePlus and Xiamoi. In this market, the chipmaker has often defeated competitor, Meditrek, which has performed well in lower class phones but has failed to move up into flagship gadgets.

Luring Samsung back could ease the difficulties of the chipmaker. Its previous version, Snapdragon 810, was said to be overheated, and Samsung only employed Qualcomm modems in some of its U.S. S6 and S6 Edge phones.

Qualcomm Breaking News disclosed that up till now, Snapdragon 820 looks quite promising but the company refused to comment further. ”We do not comment on rumors or speculation”, it stated.

It could be assumed that the latest development would intimidate the rivals of the North American giant. Partnership with mobile producers was beneficial for the chipmaker and compels it to win back business for recent phones.
