Dell Collaborates With SGI To Scale Out SAP HANA

The American computer manufacturer, Dell, has taken a step to extend its target market. Dell news reported that the company would resupply SGI‘s devices and in return, would benefit from SAP’s HANA in-memory computing high-tech features – a step that would prove to be helpful for both the organizations, as they would be able to expand their customer bases in the market.

It has been revealed that large companies are often trying to benefit from the acquired technology and are interested in employing a single node architecture that could be upgraded to eight sockets.

Dell computer exclaimed that by delivering SGI’s UV 300H servers, the business would be permitted to offer a scale up SAP HANA device and battle against rivals, such as Hewlett Packard that are known for selling larger systems. SGI is known for its high performance computing systems, which are designed for workloads, such as data management and data analytics.

Vice president and general manager for SGI’s High Performance Data Analytics business unit, Brian Freed, has stated that it is also a change in the SGI’s marketing practices. SGI officials first launched the plans to establish systems to use SAP HANA applications in the latter part of 2014. Press sources indicated that SGI’s high speed NUMAlink 7 interconnects and 15-core Xeon E7-8890 v2 processors support the UV 300H.

Dell has also partnered with Mirantis and Juniper Networks. Mr. Freed has also stated that the Texas-based enterprise’s decision to collaborate with his organization was highly convenient. He thought that the computer developer was turning into a value leader.

Dell stock disclosed that the device maker has welcomed the tie up, as its general manager of engineered solutions, Jim Ganthier, has stated that organizations benefitting from larger environments on SAP HANA need an easy-to-improve single node structures. It is probable that customers would welcome the collaboration between the two technologically advanced organizations, as they would be permitted to benefit from modern technologies.
