GoPro Inc, the action camera giant has become extremely successful in a relatively short period of time through their HERO action cameras. The company already has an idea of its strong market presence and in order to grow further, the company is coming up with a strong ecosystem that will help grow in the long ter. The chief executive officer of the firm, Mr. Nick Woodman considers GoPro to be a media company more than a conventional hardware maker. The company also wishes to strengthen its position in the content business thus it also launched Roku this year that succeeded in getting them traction.

According to GoPro new, the company now wishes to come up with software similar to the iTunes management system that will enrich the user experience. Mr. Woodman is now all set to offer cloud services that will make it easier for GPRO users to share their action videos. Mr. Woodman while giving an interview to Mr. Matt Burns of TechCrunch stated that currently the content users have is pretty much restricted to the SD cards they possess. Even though this generation is quite tech savvy and uploads picture and videos rapidly still there are several steps that make the process vigorous however now the action camera giants wish to minimize these steps.

Most of the users do not really have time to edit the footages which is present on their memory cards. This is the point where the need of a cloud service arouses. According to the company, they wish to come up with an "iTunes type management system that just works." According to the CEO, the company’s cloud computing services are in its early stages and require development. He also mentioned the mechanism of this system.

He continued to explain how the cloud service would work. According to him, when the HERO cameras will be plugged in for charging  then during that time the data will be transferred itself to the cloud service. So now there won’t be any need to transfer data by using an SD card to the editing software. Once the data is transferred the users can edit the data and share it directly via this service. Moreover a feature is likely to be added that trim long footages into highlights.

Woodman now believes that the offerings on cloud will help the company in boosting its action camera sales since users can use the footages with ease. This will allow users to gain more insights regarding GoPro, as reported by latest GoPro updates. The company currently struggling to keep track of its users and customer usage pattern which can now be resolved.
